I'm baaaackkkkkk!

Hi there! I've been meaning to get back into my groove here sooner but sometimes, something has to give and in this case it was the blog and my semi-abandoned Tik Tok account ( 😂 / 🥴 / 🤦♀️). Yes, I am still struggling with my social media journey but I have faith that I’ll find my path and get there someday🙏). It's been a wild ride with opening the new boutique storefront in such a short time (but so exciting, eeeeeeek!) and I'm embracing every bit of the chaos and not getting too bent out of shape about what I haven’t done. Instead I’m focusing on all I’ve accomplished and looking forward to what’s to come! Juggling this new venture alongside the holiday hustle has been a *challenge*, but hey, I'm learning, growing, and making sure to take care of myself first amidst the frenzy, which actually feels like a lot of growth on my end. Heck yes! 🙌
…and speaking of the new storefront adventure – picture this: lease signed on November 1, prep on the 2nd & 3rd, a getaway to the Dominican Republic the 4th-12th, and voilà, doors officially opened on the 18th and the amazing Grand Opening was November 25th! The rush to paint, swap fixtures, move everything in and infuse the space with the Wish Upon vibe in record time was an exhilarating whirlwind but all worth it in the end. Massive shoutout to friends and family for their help – I couldn't have done it without them!
While taking a trip in the midst of all the aforementioned would have sent me over the edge in the past, celebrating Mom's 60th with some of our nearest and dearest was actually pure bliss 🥰. A real vacation without work – imagine that! Coordinating our outfits was a riot; basically all the ladies brought Wish Upon dresses and tops, inadvertently twinning on some days, lol. Great minds and all that, right? And speaking of seasons and trips, our 50% off sale for select summer items is still on for those dreaming of Spring Break and warmer weather.
Can you believe 2024 is just around the corner? I closed up shop and took a breather to soak up family time from December 24th through 26th for Christmas and am doing the same for NYE and New Year's Day. Being present and enjoying this precious time with loved ones is EVERYTHING, and one of the reasons I began this whole journey in the first place.
I've met some really wonderful small business owners at various events since starting Wish Upon and I'm looking forward to bringing in some additional local products into the Boutique in 2024 (more on that soon!). As the holidays wind down, here are some ways to continue to support your local shops and businesses post-holidays and I also promise to do the same. A very wise man once told me, "the rising tide raises all ships" and that's the type of business owner I aspire to be.
🤝🏻
1. Spread the love online! Sharing posts and interacting with content, throwing in celebratory comments, and sprinkling socials with positivity truly makes a difference.
2. Let the grapevine work its magic! Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about your favorite small/local businesses. Your enthusiasm can open new doors and connections. Word of mouth can have such a large impact on the growth and success of a small business.
3. Leave a glowing review on Google. Your words could be the reason new customers check them out or give them a chance! If you’re so inclined, I would love to see some more reviews of Wish Upon for those of you that have visited the shop, ordered online or experienced one of our recent pop ups. Simply click here to leave a review for Wish Upon.
4. Running a small biz can be tough. Sending encouraging messages, checking in, and lending an ear when needed can really make a positive difference in someone’s day.
Cheers to you! Happy New Year!
🥂
Love and Light,
Erica
